Quality, Testing, Validation and Documentation Of
Products
Testing Methodologies.
We utilize HPLC (High
Performance Liquid Chromatography) and/or FTIR (Infrared
Spectroscopy) to test all raw materials upon receipt making sure
that they meet our specifications. All raw materials are quarantined
until accepted or rejected by the QC department. Samples of
acceptable raw materials are maintained in our QC files for a
minimum of four years. Random HPLC testing is done on all finished
goods. ISO-Grid System testing provides a methodology for
determining an individual sample’s total bacterial count. If raw
material microbial counts are higher than allowable levels, the lot
is rejected and returned to the vendor.
Validation and Documentation.
Validation helps us to
assure that each batch meets predetermined specifications.
Inspections are conducted throughout the manufacturing process
monitoring weights, hardness, conformation, disintegration and
color. Documentation is conducted on all procedures and maintained
at Highland Laboratories.
Raw Material Procurement &
Analysis
Raw material procurement
is subjected to our manufacturer's QA department’s vendor evaluation
process including verification of vendor’s certificate of
analysis. They maintain a complete track of lot/batch numbers
providing a full history of each raw ingredient in any given formula
throughout the life of the lot/batch number.

copy machines and laser printers to the printing presses in our
in-house printing department, we favor recycled paper whenever
possible.

soy varnishes on all projects printed in our in-house printing
department. This includes all of our labels, catalogs and product
flyers. They are committed to environmental consciousness and
ensure quality printed products with Earth-friendly
materials.

packaging our supplements in corn-based bottles, the first dietary
supplement manufacturer to do so. Made from corn resin rather than
petroleum, these bottles use 68 percent less fossil fuel than
petroleum-based bottles and are the world's first greenhouse
